Before graduating from Baylor with a business degree, I had several elective hours to fulfill. I put together a very poor portfolio, waited outside of an office for two days and talked my way into an upper-level painting course taught by esteemed artist Karl Umlauf. My life has never been the same.
Now a Senior Designer at Ducks Unlimited, I create marketing materials for the thousands of events we host each year. Mediums include print, social media templates, conferences/tradeshows, outdoor, logo design, collateral and interactive. We are dedicated to the conservation of wetlands and waterfowl habitat. To date, we are approaching 16 million acres conserved.
In addition to advertising, I am a painter who works in acrylic and mixed media. I travel back country roads to capture the American farmer with sketchpad and film. Tobacco barns, horses, harvested crops.
I have also created a series of wildlifes with a photorealistic approach. I gather inspiration for these works from national parks my family has visited over the years.
Most recently, my wife and I have begun a series of large scale works entitled "Aquos". Subjects are photographed using an underwater camera. I take the images and concepts back to my studio in Memphis where they are applied to canvas.
Work has been published in Communication Arts, American Art Collector, Southwest Art and many more. Thank you for visiting the site. Please contact me if you are interested in more available works or a commission.
